Zinc blende 7: the equivalence of zinc and sulfide ion positions

The image to the left shows eight unit cells stacked into a large cube, as you saw on page 4. The yellow wireframe describes an equivalent cell to the unit cell, except with zinc ions in the face-centred cubic positions and sulfide ions occupying half of the tetrahedral holes. This shows that a mere displacement of the zinc blende unit cell along one of zinc-sulfide bonds gives an equivalent cell but with the positions of the two types of ion reversed.
